One of the things that not too many people
know about is that there is a group of
worship pastors from local churches who meet
periodically. We meet to encourage one
another, to share ideas and songs, and to
just be friends, all in an effort to model
the larger Church that we really are. This
was modeled to us by a group of senior
pastors in the area who have been meeting
regularly for over twenty years together-to
pray for and pastor the greater local Church.
I strongly believe that this "community of
pastors" has been one of the underlying-and
largely invisible-strengths of our community
throughout the years.
Now, we'd like to extend this fellowship to
you as well. In an effort to bring together
churches from the Foothills and the Folsom
area, several area churches are presenting an
evening of worship and prayer on Thursday,
May 6, at 7 pm at Oak Hills Church in
Folsom. Coinciding with the National Day of
Prayer, the theme of this event is "WE are
ONE," based on Ephesians 4:4-6, 12-13. Our
church is very excited to be a part of this
free event, and we strongly encourage you to
be a part of it too!
As part of this event, there will be an
open-call worship choir which will help lead
worship for this service. Practice will
be held at Oak Hills on Tuesday, May 4 at 7
pm. If anyone
is interested, they can contact me at
manuel.luz@oakhills.org.
Please make this a priority. We will gather
with the larger Christian community of Folsom
and the surrounding foothills. We will
declare our commonality in Christ and the
glory of our Great God. And we will pray for
our families, our community, our world. Be
the Church with us on May 6 as we declare
that "WE are ONE."
